Who should be Labour Leader?
The working classes are quickly coming to the conclusion that another five years of Tory rule is the manifestation of the worst case scenario for the young, the disabled and students, to name but a few. Iain Duncan-Smith’s complete evisceration of the Welfare System is leaving many in poverty and, as you would think, we are not happy.
The atmosphere around the UK, on the whole, appears to be that a true change is required. No longer will we be looking for ‘a bit more of the same’ with our politicians; just looking at how Greece have crumbled under austerity has pushed the population to seek an alternative.
The Labour Party is in a process of transition; after a poor showing at the last General Election, the party has gone back-to-basics and is looking for the leader who will show the country that a vote for Labour is a vote for the true alternative.
Our current candidates for leadership are Liz Kendall, Yvette Cooper, Andy Burnham and Jeremy Corbyn. As it stands, Corbyn is the overwhelming favourite to become leader thanks to his rough-around-the-edges approach but would this necessarily be the right choice for Labour? Is it a case of too-much-too-soon or is he the shot in the arm that this country has been desperately looking for?
Who do you think should be leader and why?
